Normal speed on I 25 is 75 mph . when approaching the exit for Bernalillo it drops to 65 mph (south bound).There are radar traps usually in the morning in either direction on the overpass.

Town police monitor the southbound highway at the point just before the speed limit goes up to 45 mph. If you accelerate a little too soon, they ticket you.

Bernalillo Police park on shoulder of Highway 44. They back the vehicle inches behind the west end of the Rio Grande River Bridge with the front of Police vehicle facing West toward Cuba, New Mexico. This Bridge is across the Highway from a Jackalope store. The Police Car faces the oncoming traffic, has his halogen lights on bright and the effect is as he is a drunk driving on the wrong side of the road. After the targeted auto passes the Police car turns around. The speed limit is 45 MPH down this very long hill from the Indian Gaming House.
