Logan, New Mexico Speed Traps

Approaching Logan from Tucumcari on US54, the speed limits drop very quickly entering the southern end of town. The north end of town is the trickiest however, because even though you leave the businesses and residences of the town, the speed limit (I believe 45mph) continues northward for at least a mile, and over a viaduct. Local law enforcement often park at the bottom, or north side of the viaduct on US54, nabbing north bound speeders.

Approaching this very small town from the south one comes up a rather steep hill.
There is a small unobtrusive sign which indicates a 35mph speed limit. A rapid decrease in speed from the posted 65mph speed limit is required.
Get on the brake or you’ll get trapped. I was at 45 mph when stopped.
