Leaving Raton on Hwy 87 towards Clayton

Raton, New MexicoSep 08, 20150 Comments

Speed limit goes to 55 and stays there for a few miles out into the country for no reason. Hwy. patrol sits in the middle divided around a curve to the right just before the speed limit increases to 65. Easy picking for the highway patrol.

Hwy 87 just before I-25

Just as you are lookin’ to merge onto I-25 there is a slow down to 35 mph. The cops hide in the parking lot just before the sign and give you a ticket for doing 45 because “you should have slowed down well before the sign”…
I was 35 by the sign and he rolled up on me… but Yep – he’s right you can’t slow down quickly. You just gotta slow down way early in these towns, especially if you have outta state plates as there is not much other source of revenue – they know you won’t pick a court date and fight him. Safe travels
