Washoe, Nevada Speed Traps

Wedekind Road turns into a county road between Pyramid Highway and McCarran. M/C units wait in the turnouts, and pick off drivers taking this shortcut. The speed limit is 35 mph, and they will ticket you for over 40 mph. Favorite time of day seems to be morning rush hour when the most people are avoiding the bottleneck just ahead at McCarran when southbound on Pyramid.

Leaving Washoe on 395 North you will go down about a mile of a 45 degree grade which is limited to 50 MPH unless you are contsantly breaking you are not able to maintain that speed. Nevada Troopers love to sit at or near the bottom and cite motorists unwitting motorists.
