Palisades Interstate Parkway near Exit Number 2

Alpine, New YorkSep 17, 20070 Comments

Southbound, approaching George Washington Bridge there is a straightaway that ends in a curve where the officer will sit on the side in wait. Pay VERY careful attention to your speed; it’s marked 50, but if you get caught up in the pack, you’ll find yourself easily approaching 70. The cops know this and sit there day and night, doing quick laps in/out of their HQ at Exit 2. This is purely "revenue enhancement" for this private Police Dept.; they are employed purely for the P.I.P., nothing else. A "motivated" cop could probably write dozens of tickets in an hour.
They will often sit in the grassy median separating NB and SB directions in this area as well, so be aware; drive with care.
