All the way up the back way to big bear, ca. highway 38 s.t.

Big Bear City, CaliforniaDec 15, 20110 Comments

Be aware that the ca. highway patrol is using this route to increase the state’s revenue shortfall. The patrol officers are being directed to write speeding tickets, no warning tickets. All the way up the backside to big bear city (highway 38) they sit off to the side of the road with their radar guns pointed at traffic, tracking in either direction. The highway patrol cars will also sit on your tail lights at night and wait for your vehicle to start going downhill, and as your vehicle increases in speed due to gravity they will light you up because of your speed over the posted speed limit which changes all the way up to big bear on the 38 highway. Please be aware of this action by the highway patrol officers assigned to this streatch of highway.

East Big Bear Blvd. Between Greenway & Maple Lane

Big Bear City, CaliforniaMar 20, 20100 Comments

From the 0 block of Big Bear Blvd. (Greenway Dr.) to Maple Lane. Seems to be an easy area for the Highway Patrol to watch. And a easy, straight, area for the ‘Locals’ to push the speed limit. These 2 combinations work well together – mostly as an income to the State in the form of Trafffic Tickets. This section of East Big Bear Blvd. is also State Highway 38, within California Highway Patrol jurisdition and a main Highway into the Valley. Maple Lane is the main outlet of Big Bear High School and the Sugarloaf area.

Paradise Road near State Route 18

Paradise road between Hwy 18 and the boulevard. Speed limit used to be 45 but is now 35. I saw the CHP officer clocking me, but accelerated to 45 thinking that was the limit. He pulled me over and asked why the heck I continued to speed up to 47 and I explained I knew the limit to be 45. He told me the limit had been reduced to 35… He was decent about it, warned me for the speeding and thanked me for my honesty but did give me a fix-it for my tinted windows. I believe all roads connecting the North and South boulevards are now 35 mph. Be careful.

As you drive down from Onyx Summit and the Whispering Pines neighborhood, marked cars & SUVs use radar to catch speeders. Sister and mom have both been trapped within last year, and I see many others getting pulled over.
