Interstate 10

As everyone has mentioned, patrols from Blythe continuously monitor the vicinity of Blythe on I-10. However, I have been pulled over by them as far as 60 miles out.

Also, Blythe patrols often hide about 30-50 feet in the bushes, with no lights on or any indication. What you will hear once you have been pulled over is “I clocked you coming from the other direction” when no such thing has happened. Not only have I been pulled over using this technique, I’ve seen multiple others do as well.

If you are traveling west from Arizona into California, beware. You can go hours on Interstate 10 in Arizona and never see a HWY Patrol, but as soon as you cross into California at Blythe, you are a target for revenue. Watch your speed until 25 miles out of Blythe.

As you drive north from I-10, along Hwy 95, there’s a motorcycle cop that writes tickets all day, along this stretch of road. I never saw him coming. I drive this stretch several times a week and always see that cop stopping some unlucky soul.
