All through the town of Bodega Bay   Bodega Bay, California

Although we didn't get stopped while we were on vacation in this town, we saw an unusually large number of people pulled over and ticketed. They are evidently very strict on their 25 MPH speed limit through this town, so we minded our 'P's and 'Q's while we were there.

US Highway 1 near Bodega Avenue   Bodega Bay, California

In the hills between Valley Ford and Bodega CHP will hide on the downslope and get you while you go by. Unless you are breaking down the hill it's impossible to stay under the speed limit. I usually see them weekdays later morning early afternoon, that's when I travel. All of Hwy 1 from Petaluma to the coast is pretty bad.

CHP and Sonoma Sheriff Resident Post Officers vigor sly enforce the 25 mph speed zones. Penalties are very high.
