They hide in a private driveway on the right behind the mailbox. Driveway is about 1/4 mile after a farm with barns on the right.

They hide on the right at the intersection with Prospect St roughly 1/4 mile from the initial 30 MPH posting. Vehicle searches are commonplace, as they are in nearby Cambridge on NY 22.

They usually hide in a parking lot on the right a couple of hundred yards after the village line, marked by a shopping plaza on the left MacDonalds, KMart, etc) and cemetery also on the left. Vehicle searches are commonplace.

NY 40 approx 2.7 miles from NY 29 intersection.

They (usually sheriff dept) hide on the right (when you are facing North) in the trees of a parking area for a Quaker meeting house about 1/10 mile after the “Odd Duck Farm” (when facing North).

NY 29/40 East near or shortly after Battenkill bridge.

Occasionally there is a roadblock. They (state police and/or county sheriff) usually hide on the left just before the bridge or in a parking lot (also on the left when eastbound) in the middle of the hamlet opposite the fire hall. The trap also works westbound traffic.
