Harrisville, New York Speed Traps

The speed limit through Harrisville is 30mph. Route 3 is a main state highway and most folks travel at 40 or above. The troopers set near the town barn near the RR tracks or just past them.

Following Rt. 812 north, the speed limit remains 30 mph long after leaving the residential area of Harrisville and is not well marked. I was told by the officer that pulled me over that they were told to watch that area because motorist tend to speed. Of course they do, you’re out of town and in an obvious rural area. This is definitely a speed trap and a money maker for the town.
