West Beech St at Nevada Ave
Heading east, Beech St narrows from 4 lanes to 2, and speed limit drops. Long Beach NY has lots of scattered speed traps. They also make a lot of traffic stops in summer tourist season and catch DUIs, etc.
Park Avenue near Long Beach Road
Cops like to hang out in the parking lot of NYSC to catch people speeding or running lights. they sit there with all their lights off too so you have to be careful
Park Avenue near Pacific Boulevard
In the parking lot of the Bagel Cafe, right on Pacific cops like to hang out there to catch drunk drivers and people speeding or running through red lights
Lido Boulevard
Both Nassau County Police and City of Long Beach Police patrol this road. The Road is 3 lanes in either direction with wide open views on both sides. Police cars will park in various entrances to Town Beaches and facilties waiting for speeders. There are also radar screens with "Your Speed" posted on overhead. When exiting the Loop State Parkway which is a posted 55 mph not heavily patrolled road the driver will exit onto Lido Blvd and continue the 55 mph speed disobeying the drop to 40 mph.
