Newburgh, New York Speed Traps
Thruway between exits 17 and 18
Troopers heavily patrolling both North and Southbound stretches of I 87. Be extra careful driving long stretch of downhill when you’re likely to increase your speed. Trick is to stay between other vehicles, even when they’re doing 80 mph. Troopers pick up singles especially in the passing lane.
Rte 9W where Rte 94 ends by the cemetary
Patrol car lies in wait at night next to cemetary facing north bound. Can catch both directions & also if you run the red lights.
I-84 East Bound after Exit 5A
Just as you pass Exit 5A, the road curves to the left. Tall trees in the medium obscure a "Trooper’s Turn-around" (a cross-way made for the State Troopers to turn around and go the other direction on West Bound I-84), which you can only tell because there is a "no turn-around" sign at the entrance of the cross-way. Six out of ten times I pass this spot, a state trooper would sit there, either with his radar on or off. So, once you see that "no turn-around" sign, give some thought to our Man in the navy blue cruiser, will you?
