Calera, Alabama Speed Traps
Highway 119 around Moore’s Crossroads
State Trooper hides along 119 around the Crossroads and particularly on County Road 22 going towards Calera around Shelby Academy (in both directions).
George Roy Parkway near Victory Pontiac
This is a crazy little bypass road. The speed limit ranges from 40 to 10 MPH. It has 1 traffic light and 1 speed bump. The speed limit drops from 40 to 25 to 10 in one direction and 40 to 25 in the other. Do Not assume you know the speed limit on this road because you will get a ticket.
US Highway 31 near Calera
Approaching downtown area from both North and South. Heavy traffic includes 18-wheelers, dump trucks, cement haulers. Lots of speeders; speed drops from 45 to 35 to 30 in short distance. Pavement at RR crossing in terrible condition. Dangerous intersection near Post Office.
State Highway 25 near High School football field
Calera does two things here; either a patrol car hiding on the road going into the football field (speed limit abruptly goes from 40 to 30mph over a very short distance) or frequent Seatbelt Law / DUI checkpoints at the same area. Beware, this is a small town that gets a lot of money off tickets here, so be on guard going down Highway 25 either direction through Calera.
Hiway 70
There is some kind of factor about a mile past the Waterford neighbor hood (traveling towards columbiana). Can’t see him until you pass him and he is writing ur ticket -_-
