Going north, the speed limit changes from 55 to 25, then when you cross State St/Route 681, it changes to 35. If you are going south from McCoy Av or State St/Route 681, it is a confusing and an easily missed sign and speed change.

The Albany police are overzealous and aggressive about pulling people over and ticketing . Currently (2016), it is worse in the morning/day hours, but it may depend on who has which shift. They will nitpick minor violations if they can’t find a common one.
State Route 681 East near junction SR 681 with US 50 / SR 32
681 E makes an 80 degree turn over a bridge over railroad line about 1/4 mile before city limit. Officer sits by roadside concealed by bridge parapet. Motorists think they are leaving city and often exceed posted 35mph limit
