Claremont, California Speed Traps
7th street and indian hill
a cop sits on 7th streets and watches oncoming traffic going down indian hill. I have seen numerous cops sitting there.
Flat River Dr. @ Mt Baldy Road
Claremont PD has an officer who parks on Flat River Dr. (east of Padua) and is using radar on traffic heading westbound on Mt Baldy Road into Claremont.
Unless radar warning signs are posted, is it not legally admissible under CA state law? I brought this up at a recent city council meeting and will soon be fighting it in traffic court.
Mountain Ave at Harrison – El Roble School
Deactivated crosswalk signal by school causes the signal to flash red. Then Claremont PD has several units sit in parking lot of school and gives out tickets to vehicles who fail to stop at flashing red crosswalk. Crosswalk signal returns to normal operation when they are finished giving tickets.
Indian Hill Bl. west side between Foothill and highschool
Sometimes bike cop, sometimes car, sits in private driveway entrance of gated condos west side of Indian Hill above Foothill and below highschool tucked back in under trees, can’t see him driving north at all until right there. Driving south you can notice him in time if you know to glance over there. In Claremont it is easier to just go the posted speed limits no matter how slow they are…
Towne Ave. between 210 frwy and foothill
On Town Ave. while going north or south between the 210 frwy. and foothill motorcycle cops sit in the church driveway on the east side.
