Bellefontaine, Ohio Speed Traps
Hamilton and Washington
In the morning hours before school and from about 2:00-2:30ish there is always a cop sitting at the back of hamilton where it dead ends. This obviously isn’t to the protect the kids because they are gone by the time school lets out. They sit back far enough you won’t see them if you slow roll past the stop sign.
If they actually stayed there until the school kids let out and were on there way home I wouldn’t tell anybody, but since they are more concerned with raising money than protection the more that know the better.
On 33 between CR 10 and 540
Heading west on 33, at the top of the hill between CR 10 and 540 (underneath the TR 55 overpass). The Highway patrol likes to hang out there in the afternoons.
co rd 130/garfield
once you enter the city it goes down to 25 mph.As the previous poster said it is now illegal to go down in speed like this, but if you dont know the law then go ahead and pay the fine.that is what they count on….
County Road 10 Heading into Bellefontaine from U.S. Hwy. 33
The speed limit on Co. Rd. 10 is 55 after exiting onto it from U.S. Hwy. 33, but changes without warning as you near the city limits to 25!! The police often wait for you, parked on Eastern Avenue. This sort of speed trap was made illegal with new legislation passed a few months back… “The state is reducing speed traps by establishing transition zones when speed limits drop by 20 mph.” This has Not happened at this particular spot!!
Ludlow Road near Lake Avenue
Police cars always sitting at Blue Jacket Park, on Ludlow Rd. Anytime of the day. Heavily enforced.
