Interstate 75 near Mile Marker 178   Bowling Green, Ohio

In February 2008 (and somewhat in March 2008), the Ohio Highway Patrol has stepped up their presence along I-75 between Toledo and Findlay (northwest part of the state). However, there is one favorite spot they have. Near Mile Marker 178, about a mile south of US 6 (Exit 179), just south of the Rest Area, and also just south of some trees in the median (uncommon for Ohio interstates) and just north of an overpass, there is a turn-around in the median where they like to sit, patrolling both directions.

Manville Avenue near Between 4th and 5th Street   Bowling Green, Ohio

Sometime throughout the day they lie in wait in an apartment parking lot on the east side of Manville Ave near the alley.

Interstate 75 near US Highway 25   Bowling Green, Ohio

They patrol the small section of State highway 6 between I-75 and US 25. It is four lanes, completely access controlled, has a 200 ft plus devider strip, is perfectly flat, and there is a a small sign that designates it as 55 mph. The Highway patrol sites with radar.

State Route 25 near Interstate I75/475   Bowling Green, Ohio

Route 25 between Perrysburg and Bowling Green. I drive it almost daily and see at least one State or local officer either shooting radar or rolling. As it is the main thoroughfare for many BGSU student and local devotees of nightlife, Thurs-Sat night bar hour enforcement is particularly heavy.

US Highway 25 near Oak Street   Bowling Green, Ohio

On US25 (Main St.), just after intersection with Wooster & Main in downtown (passing Oak St.), a cruiser *loves* to sit in what looks like an insurance agency's parking lot on the East side of the road. The speed limit just decreased from 35 to 25 mph a few blocks back, and they are preying upon unsuspecting victims who fall into the trap. Just keep an eye out on the right hand side (while travelling north) - if they are lying in wait, you can usually see the white nose of the car.
