6th St bridge Bypass near Intersection 3rd Ave.   Chesapeake, Ohio

The speed on the 6th st bridge is 35mph from huntington to chesapeake across the ohio river, although, about 200yards from the intersection on the chesapeake side the speed decreases tremendously to 25mph. Which is ridiculous, because the officer on midnight will clock ya before you get to the corp limit, from his angle at CASHLAND directly across from brigde, there is no way for him to know when you for sure entered the corp limit. I think he just sees whatever speed pops up, and uses it. He'll say that you are in the 25 zone but really u were still in the 35 zone, WATCH OUT!

US Highway 52 near State Route 7 turns into Co. #1   Chesapeake, Ohio

This specific trap is the local police of Chesapeake, Ohio. Be on your guard for the entire Rt. 7 and U.S. 52 in the entire Lawrence County. This trap encompasses the city limits of Chesapeake. If you get a citation be sure it is only one and that they don't give you two and don't tell you about the second.

US Highway 52 near US Highway 52 6th Street Bridge from Huntington   Chesapeake, Ohio

When crossing the bridge from Huntington, WV into Chesapeake, OH, the speed limit drops 10 mph when you enter Chesapeake. The speed limit for most of the bridge is 35, but it drops to a completely unrealistic 25 on the Chesapeake side. The local police strictly enforce this limit, particularly at night when there is less traffic.

Rt.52   Chesapeake, Ohio

Usually 4 on duty at the same time, patroling a 8 mile area (all within 4 miles of their HDQT/Cave) In my opinion, they are NOT concerned with safety at all, My Vehicle (A bread truck) had no working lights other than headlights, and he gave me a speeding ticket. BTW--our trucks are governed at 62 MPH, & that is standing on top of the throttle, he said I was going 65. This is the 2nd time I have been pulled over in this stretch of Highway in 4 yrs. Both in a Bread truck (time before was at 62 MPH) I just dont understand--its 4am, Im in a bread truck, they know Im not drunk, shouldnt they be out catching "BAD" guys? Maybe just too scared to come facetoface with some real criminals. I guess its alot easier to pick on the "Working Class".

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
