State Highway 42 near About 2 miles South of Coquille   Coquille, California

About one to two miles after leaving the small town of Coquille, on the way to Myrtle Point, Highway 42 is four lanes wide and straight for several miles. The speed is posted at 45 mph, but the traffic flow safely moves at 55 mph. About one mile before the posted speed limit changes to 55 mph, the police sit on a side road and target the numerous drivers who have accelerated to 55 mph.
