State Highway SR 13 near The only town stopsign   Corning, Ohio

When heading North on Ohio State Route 13 from Athens, Ohio, the first county you enter after Athens is Perry. Corning Village is in Perry County, and when you reach this location, the speed limit abruptly changes from 55 to 50 about 100 yards from a stop sign. The only speeding ticket I have ever received in 15 years of driving was on this 100 yard stretch before the stop sign. I was charged with doing 53 in a 50, and given a ticket for $103, $100 for being over the speed limit and $3 for each mile over. This stretch is patrolled by the local police, and their office/court is inside the community school. The ticket was issued in November, but I had to appear to plea or pay on March 2, 2002, my birthday - which I think was done purposefully considering the length of time between the ticket and the hearing. Be careful in this little town. Only one stop sign and one gas station, but also 2 very ready police cruisers.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
