Fair Drive between Fairview & Harbor

35 MPH on 4 lane street. Don’t punch it to pass or the motorcycle cop with the gun waiting at the Carnegie corner will slap you with a ticket.

North Bound 55 Between Victoria and Fair at Night

Costa Mesa, CaliforniaDec 01, 20110 Comments

Typically a state cop but I have seen the locals lurk there too. They hide in the pullout by the billboard for the toll road. I commute at night so that’s when I’ve seen them the most around 10:30 pm. They may hide there other hours too. Mostly looking for working class people after they enter the freeway from Victoria or 22nd street. That stretch motorists merging usually have to do so pretty hot since A-holes from Newport like to hog the slow lane and try to block mergers. High end vehicles from Newport hauling butt seem to exempt from the speed laws in that area.

Harbor and Wilson

In the morning a motorcycle cop hides in the Shell station at the southwest corner behind the wall. Mostly he is looking for northbound motorists that cross the double double yellow line to turn into the Shell station or Jack in the Box.

CMPD usually has 1-3 cars In the Sprint store parking lot. Trap is usually set during the week (M-F), and they will ticket for anything 5 mph or above (Speed limit is 40 mph). If you drive between 1-5 over the limit, they will usually shine their light on you.

Bear St. between Baker and Bristol at St. Clair St stop sign

Motorcycle cop will sit on St. Clair, just beyond vision of car traveling south on Bear. If car makes a rolling stop, driver will get a ticket. I have seen cops sitting there daily for weeks.
