Gates Mills, Ohio Speed Traps
County Line Rd between 322/Mayfield and Mulberry
Being the slowest road around (35mph) cops love to sit in the woods and in residential drives. Bonus is that if you are on the northbound side of County Line you’re in Chesterland and they rarely are there!
Battles Road near Brigham Road
Village police sit in a private drive located where the road takes a 90 degree turn. Most often radar is focused south towards Brigham road and is constantly on. Much less frequently the radar is focused east towards Town Line Road. Town has a reputation for unreasonably strict enforcement.
Sherman Road near County Line Road
Police will sit in a private drive/road at the top of the hill and check speed of traffic both ways on Sherman Road. Their cruiser is hidden by evergreen trees. Westbound the speed reduces from 45 to 35 as the road crosses over the county line.
State Route 322 Mayfield Rd near River Road
Patrol car/SUV parks just west of River Road, and about 1/4 mile west of River Road on the Eastbound side in a private driveway. Speed limit is 45 mph, but traffic moves quite a bit faster as it moves down Mayfield hill’s steep grade. Gates Mills police are very diligent in raising revenue for their poor city.
US Highway 322 near River Road
Hide on the North side of Highway 322 so as to snare traffic decending into the valley in a westbound direction on the downslope of the hill from Chesterland into the Chagrin River valley, and similarly, hide on the north side after exiting the valley and ascending the hill into Mayfield Heights.
