Haverhill   Ironton, Ohio

The local cops at Haverhill are "idiots," will stop you for anything. Don't go 2 miles over the speed limit. They are known country wide for their speed traps. Fining people along Rt. #52 is the only means of supporting their "tiny" village.

Hanging Rock   Ironton, Ohio

Local police from Hanging Rock Village patrol US 52 which has a 65 mph speed limit just prior to the speed trap. It drops to 55 and they charge $146 for going 65 mph in a 55 mph.

Route 52   Ironton, Ohio

Apparently well-known speed trap used to support Ironton-Coal Grove declining economy. This speed trap should be shut-down just like the one in New Rome, OH, - absolutely no valid reason to patrol this stretch as hard as they do other than to stimulate the local dying economy (probably because of the speed trap). I learned my lession well. I will not spend another dime in is locale, for the cops are too greedy, which are making the locals more needy, as no business person will spend a dime in their fair towns after paying the officer "$90!

US 52 East of Ironton   Ironton, Ohio

Just before approaching Ironton on US 52, there is a grade where the Ohio State Patrol run Radar just beyond the drop. They use instant on radar just as the driver drops over the hill. Just about 2 miles before this area, the speed limit drops to 55 from 65 MPH, therefore allowing the OSP to get you for a broader range charge.

Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
