State Route 56 E near 5 way intersection   Laurelville, Ohio

All directions are patrolled but by unexperienced young officers with little to first time training, however coming from Circleville into Laurelville there is a sign that states 35mph ahead, instead you drop into another county within 100 feet to a 25 mph limit. No 35 mph limit is posted between these signs.

State Route 93 near State Route 56   Laurelville, Ohio

While traveling SR 93 from Chillicothe towards Logan you enter Laurelville's business district. As one would expect, the posted speed limit reduces from 55 mph to 35 mph to 25 mph as you enter the village. At the center of the village is a 5 way intersection of two state routes, and a township road. A stoplight at the town square round-a-bout, and a left turn exits you out of town along SR 93. After an distance, you are clearly out of town, and traveling along a state route without residential housing or business entrances (farm land). Approximately 2 miles outside of town is where you will be pulled over. The posted speed limit does not actually increase until you have completely crossed the bridge located there. In the words of the Officer, "I sped up too quickly", and "This is a common mistake passers through make" I sped up upon seeing the sign, not once I had passed it.
This resulted in a Mayor's ticket for traveling at 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. 20 mph over the speed limit equals a $95.00 fine. According to the Officer, a Mayors ticket does not go on your record, or carry any points.
Upon leaving, I noticed the Officer park the patrol car into a cozy spot in order to get the next traveler committing the opposite infraction.
