Maumee, Ohio Speed Traps

Police are regularly in the parking lot of the Wolcott House Museum. The speed limit is 25 MPH, however people always tend to go about 30-35 MPH. The parking lot is such that there is low shrubbery/ bushes/ trees which provide a barrier making it an ideal spot for police to discreetly wait. (Next to red building) Located across from the Indian Hill Boat Club.

Cass is very long and straight and is 35 mph. Maumee cops sit just inside entrance to the park. As you are heading south on Cass just as you go over the turnpike over pass the entrance is at the bottom of the hill. I regularly see people doing at least 50 over that hill and then slam on their brakes when they see the cop sitting there. Sometimes there are 2 cops parked with their drivers side windows facing each other.

They hide on the the south side of Harm’s Carpet One.

Not a speed trap but if you get off North bound US 475/23 at US 24 heading into Maumee (can’t get off the ramp to Waterville) and need to go to Waterville, don’t make a U-Turn at Monclova Road. There are now 2 U-Turn signs and the cops are waiting since there never were signs there before.

Usually every day at around 11:00 or so, cop sits in parking lot at the Rec Center, off Key Street near the Dussel Rd. traffic light and the overpass.
