Mifflin, Ohio Rt. 603 headed South

Mifflin, OhioSep 06, 20140 Comments

Here is how the scam works. As you roll past the speed camera under the posted speed limit of 35 you see the speed limit sign of 55 a short distance ahead, and like most people you begin to accellerate before getting past the 55 sign. (all legal for Miff town) They send you a photo and bill for what ever you were doing past 35 plus 10 mph extra to insure at least $100 stolen. Funny thing on the other side of the road of that 55 it is 35. Mifflin keeps 60% camera co. 40%. Honest law inforcement does not exist in Ashland or Richland counties. Will be getting more cameras soon.

Speed camera on the 80th Block N. Ohio St. in Mifflin, OH. If this camera is accurate it says I was doing 35 in a 25 and it charged me $100. Watch for Speed Cameras! Photo looks like it was in the middle of nothing. Which in all honesty Mifflin is the middle of nothing. Not sure if camera is portable of stationary. Wont be buying gas or anything in Mifflin ever again.

State Highway 603 near State Highway 430

As you are coming into the small village of Mifflin, from either direction on 603. Local Police enforcement (vehicle) can be found. If you’re going North into Mifflin on 603, they’re usually in the Fire Station parking lot. If you’re going south on 603, you can usually find the local mifflin police car in a driveway to your left or near the alley/street near the local grocery store. Since the village is so small they’re usually right on the village boundary to catch you speeding up as you are leaving the village limit or when you are coming in. Speed limit through this "maybe" quarter mile section of 603, which is through the "heart" of Mifflin, is 35 mph. Be prepared.
