16th SW Street near Interstate I-77 and Tusc Co 21   New Philadelphia, Ohio

New Philadelphia traffic officer, David Cimperman, loves to patrol from Interstate 77 to City Corp where County Rd 21 begins in front of Dept Human Services to Tuscarawas Auto Parts. Half the road (South bound)is in the city limits and half (North Bound)is out. He likes to sit (South Bound) at the corp sign and catch speeders heading out of town. He's another "Barney Fife"!

I-77 Expressway near Mile Marker from 73 to 93 mile post   New Philadelphia, Ohio

From 10 miles south to 10 miles north of the town of New Philadelphia which is at exit #81 mile post is a speed trap for the county of Tuscarawas and the town. It even gained it's fame in the newspapers when a local attorney was targeted by state troupers. The state patrol had for a time left so many tire tracks across the medium where they would turn and chase a car in the opposite direction that it made the Interstate look bad in that area. It cooled down for a time as personel were relocated but it is back again. Do not speed in this area.

There are small markings on the side of the road between mile marker 74 and 77. The State Police will have a plane above timming vehicles and two or more patrol cars just past mile marker 77 to issue the citations.

New Phila Police sit at the edge of town and will pull you over for any apperant reason. Even coal haulers are taken and weighed. This is leaving town past the truck stop at the intersection of CR 21 and St Rt 39 from 5:00 til whenever. Watch out.

Interstate 77, between Exits 81 and 73   New Philadelphia, Ohio

Between New Phila and Stone Creek on Interstate 77, you should always be wary if you are traveling after dinner time. There is almost always a State Highway Patrolman or two sitting in the median waiting for you. At one point in time I saw one sitting in the median while two others had speeders pulled over farther down the road. They aren't hard to detect, since they will be sitting in the emergency-turn around with their parking lights on.
