Newton Falls, Ohio Speed Traps
Travelling on I-80 either direction, vicinity of Newton Fall
Was pulled over doing ~77 (infraction is listed as going 77, which was accurate) on I-80, a 70 mph speed zone. Officer was straightforwardly polite, if curt, but there is no leniency here. They will not use discretion and do not seem interested in flow of traffic. If you break the speed limit here, you will get a ticket.
Rt 534 south bound from Rt 5
The cops park beside the post office and shoot radar thru the underpass tunnel towards the north on RT534. You cant see them until its too late. The speed drops from 35 to 25.
From RT 5 going south on 534
The police sit in Roby Lee’s restaurant parking lot with their radar pointing north towards RT 5. As soon as you come around the bend ..they got you.
North Canal across from the cemetery
They sit in the large parking lot across from the cemetery on North Canal with their radar pointed north waiting for traffic coming into town.
First Street, from route 5 to high street
Newton Falls cops park in low areas off the side of the road and ticket anyone driving even slightly over the speed limit. Also, watch the parking lots opposite the river.
Speeding through Newton Falls is a very bad idea, in general. And yes, I do live there, so I know.
