Oregon road between Wales and Miami Street

Northwood, OhioJul 25, 20110 Comments

The intersection at Wales and Oregon is Photo enforced for speed and red light. The speed limit is 35, but don’t go faster than 30, I’ve heard of people getting tickets for doing between 30-35 at that intersection. Just past the intersection north on Oregon Rd. the LEO’s like to hide behind a hedge row located in the parking lot of a business. If you are heading South on Oregon, drive slow you won’t see them until you are next to them. Between this trap and the light this is how the city of Northwood generates income. Currently the Hollywood Casino is being built at the end of Oregon Road and Miami, I’m sure Northwood police are looking for a huge influx of revenue from non locals who get nabbed at the light.

East Broadway–just north of Wales Road

Area is industrial, but speed limit is 35 mph. Police often hide in parking lots (particularly a small bar parking lot) to catch speeders.

Curtice Rd One Mile East of Wheeling

He sits in the parking lot of the apartments on the south side. The Country Road is only 35 but it is easy to go over the limit.

Woodville Road near Lemoyne Road

Red light and speed cameras sit at all four legs of this intersection. Speed limit is 35 on both Woodville and Lemoyne Roads (although the speed limit is a bit low on Woodville – easy to do 40-45 MPH). Intersection is also located near the Northwood School buildings, so watch the school zones on both roads as well.

Wales Road near Oregon Road

Red-light camera setup at Wales Road and Oregon Road, just east of I-75. Was notorious for busting vehicles not making a full stop turning from EB Wales to SB Oregon, heading toward Owens C.C. (channelization now in place, allowing free-flow). Still, this is a red-light and speed camera at this intersection. Use caution.
