Duarte, California Speed Traps
Buena Vista exit east bound 210

Mount Olive N of Royal Oaks S of Rim Road Southbound
This area is part of the Bradbury area that links the "Duarte Mesa" part of town to the rest of Duarte. This is the only way to get to this part of Duarte. Bradbury was given a Federal grant to slow the downhill speed. The motorcycle cops wait in the shadow of the driveway where the road turns west. Part of the grant money went to installing "Calming Islands" in that downhill area along with "Traffic Calming Area Ahead" signs.
South on Buena Vista at Duarte Road
Motorcyle cop sits in driveway at Three Ranch Road and Buena Vista waiting for cars that do not stop north of railroad tracks for red lights at Buena Vista and Duarte Road. The actual intersection is about 30 feet south of tracks but it is clearly maked to stop before the tracks. At all other intersections in Duarte and Monrovia at the tracks you are permitted to stop south of the tracks except at Buena Vista. Cop can usually be found once a week from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and gives 100’s of tickets a month. So freguently that sometimes does not have time to get back into driveway before issueing additional tickets.
