Piketon, Ohio Speed Traps

Heading north on US-23 as you cross the overpass over US-32, a cop occasionally sits on the on-ramp that enters the northbound lane. I’ve seen them sit there several times over the past 6 years that I’ve worked in Waverly. Only had my radar detector go off a couple times though.

Posted limit is 50 mph US23 runs through piketon. Local police set in the curve (going south bound into town) By the old gas station and set at the Ohio candle company (going north bound into town) well after where the speed limit changes from 55 to 50

Pike Hill runs from Rt. 220 as a short cut straight across to US 23. The speed limit the entire stretch of road is 35. There is a couple of little hills, kind of a roller coaster type hill, the cops love to hide there. They will write a ticket even for 5 mph over.
My husband was going to work, he’s worked in this town for almost 10 years so he knows to watch, there were 2 cars in front of him. They pulled him over for speeding. Said he was doing 50 in a 35. There was no possible way – plus he knows NOT to speed thru there. It’s nothing more than a scam for the village to get money. Just becareful if you’re ever traveling thru that area!
