The police department has been disbanded. The traffic light has been removed and the speed limit is 50 mph then drops to 35 mph then goes back to 50 mph. The 25 mph section has been removed. Thanks to ODOT, Portage is no longer a threat.

The police will sit in the surrounding areas of the town (not actually in town) and watch traffic when they go by and find any possible way that they could fine someone (i.e. license plate, going too fast, turn signal, suspicious driving, etc.). If you are driving down 25 toward Portage and a officer starts following you, do NOT enter the town.

Before entering Portage the speed limit goes from 50 to 35 to 25. Local cop can lurk anywhere but usually somewhere in the 25.

This small village has two patrol cars and one motorcycle! A favorite trick is to put one of the patrol cars at one end of town and hide the motorcycle at the other

US Highway 25   Portage, Ohio

4 lane highway that runs through this little town, cop on motorcycle or car will sit behind brush or anything else he can find, speed limit goes from 55 to 35 to 25 mph in a distance of 100 yards. And he gives no breaks
