The police department has been disbanded. The traffic light has been removed and the speed limit is 50 mph then drops to 35 mph then goes back to 50 mph. The 25 mph section has been removed. Thanks to ODOT, Portage is no longer a threat.
Area of Portage
The police will sit in the surrounding areas of the town (not actually in town) and watch traffic when they go by and find any possible way that they could fine someone (i.e. license plate, going too fast, turn signal, suspicious driving, etc.). If you are driving down 25 toward Portage and a officer starts following you, do NOT enter the town.
