Powell, Ohio Speed Traps
Smokey Row – S. Liberty Street
Watch for Powell cops sitting in the private parking lots of businesses when you enter town between the railroad tracks and E. Olentangy street. The speed is 25 MPH through this area and drops to 20 MPH during school hours. This is a speed trap since the Powell cops hide in private business lots waiting to clock you via radar. They will write you up for 28 MPH in a 25 MPH zone.
Anywhere in the Powell City limits
The city limits are expanded into seemingly rural areas and the police in Powell seem to be paid by how many tickets they write. This village has no problem with their policy of aggressive ticket writing rather than normal patrol. The comments posted are correct. This village is crazy
