Krabill Rd. and Decourcey St.

Rittman, OhioJul 25, 20220 Comments

As of July 22, 2022, I have noticed a cruiser sitting parked, with lights off, in the lot of Life Tabernacle Church on Krabill Rd. and Decourcey St. It is apparent that he is targeting morning commuters (5:40 a.m and beyond). Please exercise caution, do not roll the stop signs or speed near this location. It’s a trap!

Ohio Avenue and Hillside Baptist Church

The speed in the neighboring roads is 35pmh, however, once you start going down the hill from the library towards Main St. (business area), the speed is 25mph. The police officer is parked in front of the parking spaces of Hillside Baptist Church each morning at 6:30 am. The police alternate speed trap locations, with other times the trap being set at Charlie’s Puddle as motorists enter, exit the city.

Ohio Avenue, Charlie’s Puddle (Pond)

The police park at the little pond, known as Charlie’s Puddle. Each morning I pass this speed trap on my way to work at 6:30 am. The posted speed is 35, but be careful when entering the city of Rittman- the speed quickly drops to 25pmh once you round the bend at the Morton Salt billboard.

Going south on Main st out of Rittman right after Milton rd there is a slight curve to the right and a house on the right hand side. There tends to be a cop who sits there and clocks you while you are comign around the corner (the speed limit there is 35 until you pass the city limits sign). I see them sitting in there more and more offten lately. Be careful in this area.

Going North on Main st out of town ( main st turns into Mennonite rd ) at the top of big hill ( Mennonite hill )is a 3 way stop sign, this is out in the country and realy has no purpose, to the right of the stop sign is a house, a sherrif will sit in the drive back by the garage where you can not see him unless you realy look. COME TO A COMPLETE STOP at this stop sign, do not just tap your breaks.. STOP and look.. you will see him, He got me 2 times in 2 weeks ( same sherrif ).. failure to come to a complete stop $98 each ticket ( 2 tickets in 2 weeks ).. They will get you there for not stopping even though the stop sign serves no purpose and is not needed there
