Russells Point, Ohio Speed Traps

I was recently stopped by one of these guys…He must have been the chief, because he looked young. He gave me a written warning and seemed friendly. I asked about the small town number of cruisers thing, and he said they only have three, but only one or two on the road at any given time. I was stopped for "not Stopping at the stop sign," there at the donut shop, go figure… He did point out a recent fatal accident there, pretty sad. He also said they give three written warnings for every citation, don’t think i buy the whole speed trap thing. Simple answer is, don’t speed.

This small town has the Chief,1 full time officer and four cruisers. They sit on SR 33 and SR 708 running radar all times of the day. This is a shady department…becareful because the Chief is a 24 yr old kid with 1 1/2 total years experience(Auxilary only) in law enforcement so if you have a complaint against his department going to him will not help. If you go into there town be extra careful the police cruiser doesn’t hit you as there trying to chace down a speeder.

He hides in the tress beside St. Rt. 33. There is a Rite Aid and a bank that can cause your radar detector to give you a false indication. He will hide in the parking lot of the donut shop to. They issue lots of tickets and the ticket will cost $80.00 and he will check your insureance and even request that you give him your home phone number.
