Speed limit signs are placed and set to cause intentional confusion. You can get pulled over due to the inaccuracies in the cop's (if you can call him that, he's a useless metermaid set to harrass because he got picked on in high school) radar. Your speedometer may say 25, but his radar is off so he wins. I live right outside down. I don't spend a dollar anywhere near the place and the town has never got a dollar from me. The town is a dump and always will be because it is avoided like the plague. They should abolish the city charter and eliminate the police. How do we get the state to do this?

All within the village limits.   Tremont City, Ohio

I drive through this village almost every day. The village cops are always out there picking the pockets of anyone going 2+ mph over the 25 mph limit. They hide behind the bushes at the cemetery entrance, down driveways, behind buildings and anywhere else they can. I see them stopping people all the time. They are preditors. There are more traps there than speed. Another thing they will do is turn their only traffic light on "blink" then sit up the street and watch for someone not to bring their wheels to a FULL stop when approaching from the blinking red lights. You have to roll out partially into the intersection to see around the buildings on the corner. When you do, you better STOP before proceding. Entering the village driving south the speed limit is 35 mph from the vilage limits to a slight curve in the street, about 2 blocks, then it drops to 25 mph. But if you are travelling north on the same street, the speed limit is 25 mph clear out to the vilage limits. (Two different speed limits on the same streach of the road.) The ~350 residents of this village are protected by no less than 4 police departments, Tremont City Police, German Township Police, Clark County Sheriff and Ohio State Patrol. The Tremont City Police and German Township Police are WAY over-aggressive. $$$$$$$$$$$

Route 560   Tremont City, Ohio

Tremont is notorious. The speed limit drops from 55 to 25 The officers hide in alleys and behind buildings so you can't see them until it is too late. Don't try going 27 mph unless you enjoy the flashing lights.

St. Rt. 68; County Line Rd.; & Tremont City   Tremont City, Ohio

German Twp uses KA Band radar on Rt. 68 north of Springfield sitting in the median, under an overpass, clocking both north and southbound traffic. They also sit near the Mad River on County Line Rd., and Upper Valley Pike in Tremont City and north to Champaign Co. They turn off their lights and hide. This is the township's largest revenue maker and they are very aggressive. They provide little margin if you're over the posted speed limit.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
