They were making definite bank in that town. But Roland cops are still patrolling 64 hwy and Roland rd. with a vengeance, so be careful and use your cruise…
State Highway 64 near Interstate 40
Between the Arkansas border town of Fort Smith (Garrison Avenue route)and the entrance to interstate highway 40, the Roland police are hypervigilant. Once you enter their jurisdiction, it is advisable to stay either at the speed limit or a mile or two under. It is apparently the main source of income for this little town, and they appear to really enjoy their work. If you’re coming in from I40, you can bypass the Roland/FortSmith exit and take the Dora or I540 exit to avoid the hassle and enter Fort Smith.
