Hwy 99 south bound going into Amity   Amity, Oregon

As your drive into the town of Amity it goes from 50mph on 99hwy then 40mph for about 100' then there is a short left curve ( can't see him there because there is a tall dense hedge there ) then short right curve that drops down to 30mph at the end. At the second curve there is a Police man parked on the right side in a driveway looking right at you . If your not at 30mph or your seat belt not on before the sign he'll nail you.. i see it happen all the time. They hire outside help, so they're eager to write you up.

The whole town   Amity, Oregon

While traveling through down town Amity July 2011, several police cars were pulling over cars all around. A police car came up behind me and turned on its lights. Cars were parked along the curb,so I proceeded less than half a block till I could pull over. I was given a $311 ticket for not yielding to an emergency vehicle. The policeman was very rude.

Amity on Hwy 99W   Amity, Oregon

The whole town is a police trap. I have seen cops on each end of town at the same time. They will nail you for anything and everything. If you don't yield to pedestrains near a cross walk they will nail you. Go 1 mph over the posted limit they will nail you. Have a burned out or busted head or tail light and they will fine you. I lived there for 10 years......

State Highway 99 West near Downtown   Amity, Oregon

I received a ticket in the third week of August, 2006. I paid $170 for doing 43 mph just after passing the posted 30 mph sign. The officer followed me through town and waited to pull me over after I left town & went past the 40 mph sign. I learned later that the reason he was following me through Amity without pulling me over was to try a catch me a second time speeding back up to 40 before actually passing the 40 mph sign and receiving a second ticket. I was fotunate to only have recieved one ticket that day in Amity, Oregon. At the time that my wife and I were driving through Amity we were looking for a place to eat & were wondering why town was looked so desserted...we know why now!

Cops in Amity will get you for even going 1 mph over the speed limit. The speed goes from 55 mph to 40 mph for a few feet to 30 mph through the town. Don't speed up until after you hit the sign outside of town too. Amity cops love to get people accelerating out of town but not quite to that 55 sign.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
