Ehlen Road East to Aurora Oregon

Aurora, OregonJun 07, 20160 Comments

The area is a well known speed trap. I was driving 55 mph and was pulled over on Ehlen Road just past Cole Rd. The town of Aurora has a hiding police officer ready to pounce in this area with the tricky unmarked speed changes. Be careful, or better yet avoid area. The only reason I had to go that way was due to Whisky Hill Road being closed, which is my normal way home. The officer was very vague as to where he clocked me and then changed his tune after originally telling me he clocked me at 55 mph and then he handed me the ticket for 67 in a 45. This is not on the up and up for sure.

The Entire City Is A Trap

The entire city of Aurora, Oregon is a trap – just sneeze the wrong way and you’ll get busted. It’s a one horse town with small town minds. Very dangerous place to drive through. Doesn’t matter if it’s 99E thru town or the side streets like Airport Rd – you’ll get a ticket for your right front tire not inflated correctly! Not worth the headache – try and use Hwy 551 to avoid the city.

East of Hubbard Cutoff Rd. NE, heading into the town of Aurora, OR, open roadway, posted 45mph, changes to 35mph with no warning, downhill, then changes to 25mph with no warning. Quite easy to exceed new posted limit. County Sheriff and Aurora police take turns enforcing. Wear your seatbelts and forget about talking them out of it. Unmarked cars are common along with hidden radar units.

One Police Car town…has nothing to do. Parks there every day waiting for unsuspecting motorists entering Aurora at a speed faster than 30 MPH. Highway average speed for 99E is 45 miles per hour. Pulls over for speeding and seatbelts.

Officers set up Orange Cones at certain areas of the hwy, if you are within that cones they will stop you. They also do this for Crosswalks and if you are within the cones when a pedestrian steps off the curb and y ou dont stop they will pull you over. Cones for cross walks are set at an unsafe stopping distance. This town will also stop you for ANYTHING and everything. I recently went to trial to plead my case. The office had no notes and very little recollection of the incident, lied to the judge, I called him on it and he twisted the story, the judge sided with him, this was for a smoked cover over my license plate. Resulting in a $100.00 fine. Apparantly even if you are right, the officer can lie and the judge will side with him. Unfair? Very much so!
