US Highway 97 near Mile Marker 107-108   Jefferson, Oregon

State patrolman runs radar from vehicle parked on a graveled side road on the bottom of grade. The patrol car is usually a marked dark green state police patrol car unit. The patrolman parks alongside a concrete barricade on a cattle guard. From the top of the grade vehicle is not recognizable as it is only partially visable. Both north and south lanes have ascending passing lanes that end descending and converging into normal one lane. Use caution when attempting to pass "one more vehicle" before passing lane ends. The patrolman will "paint" and cite on spot. Don't worry if end up in grid behind 16-wheelers, there is a weigh station at bottom of grade which they must pull for.

Entire Town   Jefferson, Oregon

This town has a contract with the Marion County Sheriff's Office and has deputies working various shifts that are strictly assigned to this area. Also, Hwy 99E runs through the middle of town and therefore, they also have overlapping coverage from the Oregon State Police. It is not unusual to see 4 or 5 patrol cars stopping people in this town (population 1,800). Also, as a side note, they tow vehicles under City and County Ordinances for DUII, Driving While Suspended, Driving without a license, and Driving Uninsured.
