US Highway 20/126 near In City Limits
In Oregon you must be at or below the posted limit as you are at the sign and stay at or below that speed until another speed is posted or ended.
Barclay Street near State Highway 20-22
Barclay is the first left turn as you arrive at the west end of Sisters. It is a street through the industrial area and has a 25 limit reduced to 20 at the first intersection. As you are coming from a 55 zone, it is very easy to drive faster and it goese right past the State Police office. Drive faster at your own peril!
State Highway 20 near State Route 126
Entering the City of Sisters driving West is an intersection of Oregon 126 and HW 20, just past this intersection the first sign is for 40 MPH and hour and then abruptly the next speed limit thru the City of Sisters is 20 MPH. Most people I have talked to say the fine for going 35 in a 20 mile zone is $200.
Entire Hwy. 26 right through town!
This little western city thrives on toursits and 18 wheelers. Don’t even think about going over the posted limit and wait until you are at the highway speed limit sign before you pick up your speed. They have been known to give warnings but that is only for a couple MPH over their limit! All others WILL PAY!
