Near the police station, heading toward the high school

Wilsonville, OregonApr 27, 20120 Comments

Heading east on Wilsonville Rd toward Rose Lane and the High School, there is a left turn into the police station area. At night a cop will usually be hiding in the entry to the parking lot. Sometimes, they will hide one road down, on the very first right after the police station, just before the bridge over the creek. It’s a steep dead end road and it is very easy to miss any cops sitting there.

A county motorcycle cop likes to give out awards here. Usually parked in the little side "road" just north of the 110th intersection. It’s in a transition area from rural country to heading into the city of Wilsonville.

The speed limit was recently dropped on this section of I-5 to 55 MPH. It is smooth, freshly paved, and rigorously patrolled. Judge in Wilsonville does not accept technical defenses.

Wilsonville Road near Interstate 5

Wilsonville, OregonApr 16, 20081 Comments

This is a speed trap by every definition of the term. Speed slows to 25mph for about 1/4 mile as you go down a hill under the freeway, then picks back up to 35mph once you come back up out of the dip. Towards the end of the month on sunny mornings you can fairly consistently find a motorcycle cop with a Lidar stationed on Parkway Ave, just east of I-5 looking for motorists going eastbound on Wilsonville Rd.

Boeckman Road near Canyon Creek Road

Wilsonville, OregonJan 28, 20080 Comments

Going East on Boeckman Rd. after the four-way stop at Canyon Creek and Boeckman towards Wilsonville Rd., there is a dip in the road. A state trooper will often park at the top of the dip. The speed limit is 25 throughout the dip due to deer crossing. Easy to speed through (even coasting) and get caught at the top. Trooper frequently sits there in the afternoon in an alcove at the top of hill.
