State Highway 269 near West Palmer Avenue   Huron, California

Route 269 is a common by-pass for those going into Fresno from Interstate 5. Most use Hwy. 269 to avoid Highway 41 which is a heavily traveled truck route and dangerous. When going through cith of Huron on 269 - there are not lights or stop signs and posted speed limit is 40 mph through town. However, just past town the posted speed limit changes to 55 mph. Just before that sign, the Huron Police sit and wait in a convience store parking lot (just south of West Palmer Ave). Do not speed up going north until you pass the 55 mph sign. Coming south bound, make sure you slow down to 40 before you cross West Palmer Ave.
