217 and mentor

Derry, PennsylvaniaOct 27, 20140 Comments

Sit on mentor hiding behind some random building, at the bottom of the hill after passing strubles going into down town. I believe they use vascar. There are two white lines 100 feet apart and they are marked with telephone poles so they can see them at night. Use extreme caution going into derry and slow down at strubles so you don’t pick up too much speed down that hill. This one is extremely lucrative for the local pd, I hear multiple people getting lit up especially at night and I got pinched too. Unless your in a school or construction zone vascar is inadmissible in our state provided the posted speed is below 55 AND you aren’t going 10 or more over the posted speed. If you get popped at say 5 over use this to your advantage

Derry Police can be found in this area between Rt 981 and Rt 217 any time of the day or night. Just past the school admin building and midway around the lake. speed limit goes from 30 to 25 and they hand out dozens of tickets here daily. I might add that it’s a school zone so make sure you go 15 mph during thr posted times or you’re up for a 500 buck ticket plus costs.

Hersheypark Drive near North Lingle Avenue

Derry, PennsylvaniaFeb 03, 20070 Comments

Police set up the trap at either end of the roadway, and enact the Traffic Stop at the other end. Hersheypark Drive (extension) runs from N. Linge Ave., to Pa Route 743 (Laudermilch Road) in Derry TWP, the roadway length is about 1.75 miles long, the speed limit is 45 M.P.H. The roadway is a bypass to a crowded residental road and motorist usually speed excessively on this road. P.D. will usually set up the trap on either the WB or EB roadway (both have 2 lanes) and have a parent car on the other side of the roadway.

Middletown Rd. and Princeton Rd. Crossing

Derry, PennsylvaniaSep 21, 20060 Comments

Detection devices are set up to clock cars traveling on Middletown Road either toward Middletown or Hummelstown by Derry Township Police. Speed Limit is 35MPH at location of detection devices. However, as one travels from Middletown towards Hummelstown, the road narrows from 4 lanes to two lanes and the speed limit decreases to 35 MPH from 45 MPH, so the trap gets most folks slowing down from 53 MPH (assuming everyone drives at 8 MPH over). One can be easily clocked at over 50 MPH at the detection devices…That’s how they really get you.
