Speed Trap at Kirby Road, King, NC

- Description: The King p.d likes to sit on kirby road, either at the church as you enter the road from old hwy 52. Or a few other spots after you pass the church. It is a 35 zone, so stay 35, dont enter King unless you have the right tags, registration, working signals and all lights. Worst chance for getting pulled in the triad. Worse at night but they still sit around during the day.

The Chief of King will not do anything he will back his cops right or wrong I know from others and my on dealings with them.

The police definitely do sit in the Baptist Church parking lot. I attend church services and work on Kirby road, so I travel through there a lot. It seems difficult to keep your speed to 35, it would seem more like a 45 zone and my foot gets heavy. Fortunately I have only been stopped when one of my lights was not working and was given a warning.•

I do agree with all this. I was traveling down Main Street in King and was doing absoultely nothing wrong. I got pulled over in my boyfriends drive way. The cop said I was speeding and said he couldn't tell me how fast I was going because then he couldn't just give me a warning but a pink ticket. I have heard they harrass decent looking girls as well. I may be wrong and don't get me wrong I do have respect for cops but if you travel through King you better keep it straight.

Watch out for Interstate 52 between King and Pilot Mountain the troopers write more tickets here than any other part of the area.•

The city has received funding for additional officers used just for traffic enforcement.
