Latitude: 42.8549
Longitude: -112.417
Description: There is no '7 mph over the limit allowance' in Idaho. When the speed limit was bumped from 55 to 75, the Idaho Attorney General publicly announced that the new speed limit would be Strictly enforced on the Interstate system through Idaho. I can just about guarantee that if you pass a trooper at 82, you will be ticketed! I've been stopped and warned at 77. Wednesday afternoon northbound through early Monday morning southbound, the Utah drivers going to and from Island Park and Yellowstone hammer through there like they're going through SLC. It's ugly. ISP responds, it seems, to the level of complaints received.

I also drive that stretch and keep strictly on the 75mph dot. I can't tell you how many vehicles (out of state) fly by. My daughter got warned for going 76mph, the officer told her there was no "5 mph grace". What the speed limit signs say, is what it is, period.

The speed limit is 75. The police give you to 80 and if you are going faster than that you deserve a ticket. It is also a deadly stretch of road.

I got a speeding ticket in this speed trap for going 82mph in 75mph zone.

I noticed that too! A day or two after this was posted I didn't see any for at least a couple of weeks!

Hmmm. Interesting that since this was posted, they have disappeared. Coincidence? Or does ISP monitor this site? It's cat and mouse!
