I have looked at most of the traps listed on this site in the Portland metro area, you folks are biggest whiners on the net. All you have to do is go the speed limit. It is usually not hard to see speed limit signs. Most of you have probably seen the photo-radar van or officer in the area before. So get over it, quit your whining and slow down.

Has anyone had any luck fighting a speeding ticket here? I just don't get why the speed limit is 35 yet all other streets in the area that look just like that and are also "residential" are 45. I'm thinking of showing up to court.

I see this photo radar a lot. Just across the street is the tennis club and people make left hand turns across the double yellow line... Am I wrong or is that an illegal turn? I know while the photo radar van is there it must happen at least 2 or 3 times an hour.

I got nailed at this one. Pulled over at Borders, also. Dark, late, empty road, never saw a speed sign. Had no idea that this HUGE, 4-lane highway could possibly be 35mph. What could possibly be the logic behind that?

When I drove past the speed radar vehicle, I saw the indicator saying 37mph. I wasn't sure whether I was captured in the speed camera as the light flashes long before I was parellel with the speed radar vehicle. could that be the car in front of me? Can someone advise?

Nailed in this area yesterday for 52 in a 35; base fine is $200. I just came off of 26 east, headed towards Cedar Hills Crossing on Cedar Hills Boulevard.
The cop sits around the bend just waiting for people coming down that hill towards Walker Road.
He pulled out right behind me and pulled me over in front of the Borders parking lot. :(

Technically they are outside the city limits but through an old loop hole in the law were able to annex the street without the property on either side of it.

Ahhhh...unfortunately that an area where a lot of folks jog, walk, bicycles tennis courts and a I understand a Kinder Care...So, logic tells me to slow down. Plus I always look for those warning signs they put out ahead.

55 in 35 - $200 fine - they gave me a website to pay for it or court appearance Oct 9. It took only a week to get the mailed citation (Sep 3 - Sep 10). 4 lovely color photos - two from afar, one of the plate and one of my friend's semi-smiling mug.

Too easy to go over. It's the town's way of making an extra buck or thousand! Unacceptable.

I work in this area and know the speed traps well. I always advise my clients to slow down, (I sell cars in Beaverton) and will also attest to the speed traps on HWY 26 on the newly paved westbound lanes.
