Description: Arab is trying to increase revenue to pay for their new radar guns. They also put people on probation that cannot pay, until it is paid off and they charge a whopping $35 a month in addition to the charge. No questions asked, they charge you even if you can produce the insurance card or the tag receipt you could not find on the day you were pulled over and ticketed for not having one of these items (could not find because you were so nervous does not matter to them).

  I agree with the comment about being tailgated by officers because this happened to me personally. It was not by an Arab policeman, but by a Morgan County Officer. I was driving by cruise control and did not speed up but I was stopped anyway and detained for over an hour. He was looking for anything and everything. I was not issued a citation because I did nothing wrong. Also, I have never experienced anything like this in my driving career, so I know first hand that this does in fact happen.

  The statement about the Arab and Marshall County authorities tailgating is true. I know of at least 5 incidents where this very thing has taken place. I also know one of the county deputies who admitted this is part of their procedure. He did state that this was only done for those they thought needed to be stopped for various reasons.

  Watch out there, especially if you aren't from there or have money related connections. if you are from there and have money (or family with money); no problem, you can get away with literally anything; no money, not from there, you are going to be even lighter in the wallet department once you leave.

  Both of the comments above are false. I have lived and have driven in this area most of my adult life. I haven't been stopped to this point. I know for a fact that they however are very hard on speeding, so if your in this area then use your brain just don't speed.

  Arab Police work in conjunction with the Marshall Co Sheriff to speed upon the bumper of someone to try to get them to speed up. They will take turns doing this several times. If you speed up they've got you, if you don't, they pull you over anyway to try to intimidate you. If you say anything they construe as smart alec, you've got a ticket. This has happened to three different people that I know. Unfortunately if you try to fight it, there are two of them against one of you.
