Description: Police enjoy sitting in the Bryan Senior High parking lot, especially between the baseball and football fields. I have seen them facing both ways (East & West) and have detected them to be using both radar and laser. They usually won't turn on their detectors until they notice you are going at least 5 over, but I've had my detector go off at 9 under. They like to sit along the far north side of the lot. They can see both the intersections (48th & 42nd) from their vantage point since they are at the peak of one of the hills, but they sit far enough back that the average driver doesn't notice a white, relatively bland-looking Impala and/or Crown Victoria, especially in the evening, but i've seen them at school lunch breaks too.

Totally unfounded. The officers aren't running radar from that distance (and 90 degree angle) even though Giles Road at that location is a posted 25 mph school zone. They are there as a deterrent to keep your school chums from breaking into cars while you're in class. Most of the time, the officer sitting at that location is an SRO who is assigned to Bryan. Check out the local media and you'll see stories related to gang activity that has been dealt with by officers in that parking lot. They're also trying to keep students safe in school so they learn something worthwhile instead of posting uninformed comments on Internet forums.
