Doing 20 over when construction workers present is serious - I'd say the fine was relatively light considering. Hitting somebody at 35 might mean they survive, at 55 it's most always fatal.

They had a "construction zone" (a couple of guys smearing some concrete about fifty feet from the intersection), and a St. Louis County officer set just inside a 35 MPH sign which was placed over the 55 MPH sign. I have driven through there dozens of times at 55 MPH. This particular day, I was driving my Pastor to pick up a vehicle. He said, "He gave you a ticket for that?" Cost: $84 + Insurance costs went through the roof. Would that be a speed trap?

Good for them, you should slow down and obey the law!
